is working, and it's not going away. president obama saying the website for the affordable health care act is working well for the vast majority of users. what isn't working well, though, in california, is this political brand. a new field poll, take a look, shows 43% of californians disapprove of mr. obama's job performance. that's an increase from 35% in july. nbc bay area political analyst larry gersten joins us. larry, is this a cause for democrats to be concerned even here in california? >> they may not say so, but yeah, they are concerned on several fronts. look, to begin with, the president lost support among key constituencies. take a look at the growing ranks of disapproval. these are pretty important. women up to 40% from 27% a few months ago. latinos, 34% disapproving compared to 18%. union households, up to 43% from 25% a few months ago. these were major pillars of the democratic coalition in 2012, and they are abandoning ship. >> usually here in california, we're kind of our own island, but is the disapproval kind of similar now across the country? are we reflecting that is. >
